We;ve been together around half the year, ive held down jobs for close to a decade now or so, im technically an upper level manager

Ask at a year, or a significant date to you near the year mark. If she can stay faithful for a year then it's good. That's for you and the father. Wait too long and he will think "you're getting the milk for free" don't wait long enough and he will think its driven by lust.

That';s pretty good advice, if its too short notice it may come off as shocking. I was thinking it might be better to simply wait until the parents bring it up instead, so it seems more natural. Usually i would think its a better sign if its brought up naturally over being forced into a conversation

To a point. It would depend on the parents. Many would never bring it up. Use your best judgment and stand upright and declare your intentions wheb you are confident in them and you feel the tine is right. Hopefully she is the one. Good luck to you!
