A large portion of shilling isn't to push a specific point of view, it's to distract and redirect discussions away from other meaningful threads. It's a form of sliding and redirection. Even though the majority may see them for what they are some number of newbs may not. This may also indicate there has been an influx of newbies experiencing alternative platforms and messaging. And this is the shill effort to push early. The later is especially likely if you see it coupled with harsh attacks to push people back off of the platform and or limit participation.
