Moka was the standard style of coffee in northern Italy for years. Espresso was invented by a company that was tired of how long the workers took to make their coffee with the mocha during their break. The other style is the Napolitano, also a great way to make coffee. Both are inexpensive and have been handed down for generations. don't forget a good hand grinder.
I already have an electric grinder. Is there much of a difference?
No, but if there is no power, you can't make coffee and the hand grinders tend to last generations as well. I have my grandmothers grinder my cousin has her moka.
I'll eat the beans if I have to! :)
If my electric breaks a hand grinder sounds like a good replacement.
