It depends, do you really need it? Personally when it comes to coffee I dump instant coffee in hot water, or cold water sometimes (summer mostly)

If you're in a setting where electricity isn't readily available for regular home devices (off grid or at sea for instance), and instant coffee is something you don't want, then yeah it's worth it I guess
The instant coffee I use is the only brand I can drink all day long without having the downsides of all the more mainstream brands such as maxwell and shit; headaches, stomach "pain" (you feel like you're sick), kicking heart beat, etc
I have a Keurig which is okay, but not exactly the best quality coffee. I don't buy the k cups I use one of those refillable basket things.
Not a huge fan on instant and I do have a percolator I use for off grid, aka camping.
