Different gloves for different work.

Work gloves for wood and steel Work gloves for grimy, nasty shit Box of latex gloves for medical emergencies Welding gloves Shooting gloves Combat gloves with the index, middle, and thumb cut out Etc..

Very true. I use the latex coated thick polyester for stone work and anything abrasive, medical type latex for auto work, kinco pig skin insulated for winter. The mechanix type fall apart at the seams after minimal use but some of them have knuckle and back of hand protection so they're good for demo work. You cant go wrong with leather it lasts the longest.

This and I always keep a couple pairs in my car just in case.

Mine arent of any amazing quality or anything I just keep getting leather work gloves.

I still use quality gloves (mostly while welding) but I just found out about & rather like the cheap nitrile covered ones you can get from home depot for 10 bucks for 10 pairs. https://pic8.co/sh/sKDhk8.jpg

I keep three pairs. One for when it is wet outside. A good pair for when it's dry. A brand new pair, waiting.

When the good ones wear out, they become wet weather, Wet weather gets tossed. The news ones come out. Then I go buy another new pair to wait.

That's a good idea. My lowest pair of gloves I use to deal with my mouse and rat traps around my camper van. when I set them up and strike them, when I move my site.

I have 5 good pairs that are exactly the same. I have others too but I never use them.

It's slim pickens for good gloves. I just bought a pair two weeks ago and I was walking around Home Depot and saw a great pair today. pretty cheap too, so I just picked them up. I probably won't need them till next year sometime but it's good to have.

You use work gloves?

[–] 0 pt

Yep. If I have to hammer a nail or two I won't put a glove on the hand that places the nail but I'll wear a glove for my hand that holds the hammer.

[–] 0 pt

Of course. I need at least another pair after the first pair is soaked from the melted snow.

"Wow. Look at all these work gloves. This guy must seriously work."

I have several pair, I keep them in various tool boxes. Same with eye protection.

All I have are tinted glasses for eye protection. I got to buy a clear version.

I have 3. Working as a mechanic, I have mechanix m-pact 2's for when I have to use air hammers and swing heavy motherfucking hammers. I also have a pair that are winterized for when I have to work outside. And the last pair are cut resistant heat resistant fabrication gloves for when I need to do grinding or welding.

What kind of hammers?

I favor 8lb mini sledges and and a 12lb sledge. Rusty parts are frequent around the north.

Damn, you must have abs of steel. Or at least one hell of a back. I bought a 10 lb maul for my father's house to chop wood with. I can only imagine if I use that thing everyday for 6 months I'll either amazingly muscular my upper back would be or completely broken my spine would be. LOL

Multi pack. Then a home pair with a finger tip cut off so I can use phone on porch

What does your neighbor think about that?

[–] 0 pt

Why are you thinking about my neighbor

[–] 0 pt

Well you said you sit on a porch with a missing finger on your glove. If I was your neighbor I'd wonder. Unless of course your porch is in the back and not the front.

Used to go through them so fast they don't worth anything

I got a pair of Carhartts that are really good. I mostly use them to chop firewood and move around barbed wire.
