Dont waste money on 8K, yet. Get something that upscales, has HDR, 4K capable for the next +/-15 years. Most current OTA is broadcast in 480P, a few up to 1080i. Upscaling and HDR will be a great improvement, especially on bigger screens.
The most important thing is that it can do strobing or the backlight for only on for a couple of milliseconds each frame, to approximate how a CRT refreshes the display. This is the only way to eliminate motion blur on moving objects. Some TVs will upscale the frame rate which looks bad and still isn't a substitute for strobing.
