I can see putting in the extra effort back when cars were cool. Now they're bland cookie-cutter shapes that you can't discern one from another.
I'd disagree with that. Despite the decline in the aesthetics of vehichles these days, if you own one, you should care for it. If nothing else, that attention will help with the resell value. Regardless of the car, a shiny one looks better than a dirty one.
I understand what you're saying. But imo there's a difference between the joy of waxing and the joy of waxing
No question.
I hate those crossovers so much, especially the compact ones.
Also, clear coat of great quality renders the effort less satisfying.
A shitty foreign car or a once classic car that's been ruined by either a wetback or a nigger?
The fancy family vehicle is washed & waxed all the time, but the new truck is not. It is wrapped with a flat matte black & looks better dirty on the outside. The inside is immaculate & detailed by me every week.
It makes the vehicle not so much a target as well. I suppose if it wasn't wrapped, I would take the time to hand wax but the wrap is what provides protection of the paint for now.
I do wash the windows & mirrors constantly too. The SO vapes so that oily film gets everywhere.
Yup, much easier to protect with hybrid ceramic spray coating. And even then, its important to clay, having done a good wash first.
fr ceramic coatings have changed everything.
