I don't know about Florida. They may join just because they seem like they have no problem telling everyone to fuck off, but they may not because it's full of old people and they have no problem telling everyone to fuck off.
I think the larger issue with that situation is the US would wind up splintering into city states as opposed to what we had in the civil war. The PNW/Jefferson region, the new England states, the Southwestern region, the south, etc. IF the confederacy were to make a come back, I think your assessment is correct. But I don't think it would play that way.

Illinois without crook county area is largely conservative, New York is the same as is northern California and Oregon sans Portland. Nearly every blue state is that way strictly because of major cities.
I'd be fine with letting city states break off. So long as the remaining country declares them as hostile to the Constitution and shuts down all roads and highways and encircles the cities and starves them to death using the National Guard. I'm good with allowing blue cities to starve to death. 100% serious.
None. The president would say it's an insurrection, declare martial law, and then the DOJ/FBI would arrest anyone involved before there was even a single vote cast by state legislatures. That would include arresting state reps, the governor, whoever.

Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Tennessee, south Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, maybe west Virginia.
If a secession happened the west coast would secede and create the pacific states, and then Idaho Montana the Dakotas and Alberta and Saskatchewan would form a confederacy.

Don't count out the Midwestern states
I don't thinking you understood what a confederacy is, and is this country was, seeing as any state that breaks from the union would be considered a confederacy. Right now those states would be California, Washington, Oregon New York and any blue state with Sanctuary City status or any state that ignores the constitutional authority to govern.
