I looked into electric heating jackets such as mobile warming ones, but I don't trust how long the heaters will work.

What I'm looking for is a jacket that's

Water proof Hoodie Has layers or removable liners

Basically I just want one jacket that will work in 60-70 degree weather and convert to be able to use in 20-30 degree weather, that I can just wear a short sleeve shirt on underneath. Right now I'm running 3 different jackets along with a shirt underneath and it sucks. I'm not really going for a fashion jacket either.

Price range is up to $450. What are you guys using?

If you have that much money to work with you might be better off buying two $200 jackets instead of buying one jacket that will likely be mediocre in each of those conditions.

North Face do a 'Triclimate' range which are convertible. Some of them have fleece inners, or thermoball gillets or with water proof outers that you configure depending on the weather. If you search for Triclimate you'll see what I mean.

I wish I had gone with a heated sweatshirt instead of a heated jacket. Wearing it as the outer layer gives half the warmth it produces to the air.

Goretex is what you want. Just make sure you wash it correctly, when you do. My go-to brand is Columbia. They're based in the PNW and they make gear specifically for cold damp winters. Carhartt isn't waterproof, but their jackets are a long time staple also. I have both. The columbia is my everyday wear, my Carhartt is for when I gotta do shit in snow or sub 0 temps

Most times a couple of t shirts and a Pendleton are good. Realky cold? Ridgecut insulated bibs and my hooded Carhart. Composit toed boots, not steel toes.

I bought an 800 fill mountain hardware jacket that I could wear in minus 20 and have a t-shirt on under it. The problem is is when the temperature changed anything other than absolute frigid I would overheat and die in that thing. Your best bet is to just layer. Sure layering sucks but it is what it is.

Graphene-x granarec jacket. Well within your range, works amazingly, feels better on the skin and temp balanced extremely well

Not waterproof, bus airs water FAST. Wore this up in Alaska in 2021 august, had no problem, no need for a heavy rain-deflective later

"Hoodie" i.n the sense that it has a hood, a semi water reflective "sheet" almost. Still the best jacket/puffy I've ever owned

my go to is always carhart bibs and a jean coat with wool flannel inside. i do use a cheap walkmart jacket that has insulation inside and a hood. so many options why waste 450?

i agree with comment down below i'd run multiple jackets. cool damp time of year runn a fishing coat. anything colder then 50 and im running bibs and coat. craftsman makes a super nice hoodie thats insulated inside with wool bits. very think and caN BE made water proof with sprays though wouldnt last long. a good leather coat with tassels is a good water coat. the tassels do a great job wicking away water. go with a nice insulated leather coat. actual thats what i searcxh for on amazon til i find a good deal. got a hoodie at home with wool inside only shit dude all day good for 20's degrees outside with no bibs. though i always run carhart pants and bibs for winter.

I have had my Milwaukee heated sweatshirt for about 4 years. Works great. On the medium setting a battery will last 4 hours.
