There are lots of scenes in this movie that still ring true, but what new encounters would the protagonist have?

To kick this off I would suggest he lose his job due to cancel culture overreacting to a simple misunderstanding and flooding his employer with social media posts.

It would be a black woman in much the same position of the original character, though she would be fighting against racism and patriarchy - both of which would have been the cause of her lack of professional success. Her white ex-husband would've been awarded custody of her mongrel children because of a good ole boy judge, blamed on her lack of a job (his new wife would be a blond, and treat her kids as second class). Ultimately, she would be taken down by skinheaded nazis wearing maga hats. It would be a profound statement on the state of our nation, win her an oscar, and inspire more hatred for white men.

Probably already in production.

And of course, they'd cast "strong black woman" to play the lead role:

Always plays the exact same role in every single movie. Other than her turn as a maid-nanny in "The Help", she's always an authoritative, strong Black woman who deals with injustice and strife and has to be shown as "strong" in her struggle.

In 2010 maybe. But this is a new paradigm. The worst part of white people is putting up with their stupidity and incompetence. They're totally worthless in every way. Even their women can't stand them.
