Back when I ran a lot.. 7 miles was easy. Probably could have kept running but just got bored of running.

Same, I got bored after 8, and that was my longest distance.

Motherfucker, I ran 9 miles from the pub at 2 AM.

Makes me wonder what happened in the pub.

32 mi mostly at doubletime 10 min mile for an endurance bet. Ahh I need to run more these days. It's almost as fun as digging.

1/2 marathon. When i was finished, i was so damn glad.

Either a round trip across town or a long trail, although it was more like walking rather than running.

RLongest one-timer: 9 miles. Company formation. Variable terrain, variable speed (8 - 9 minute/mile)

Typical run: All-American every Friday. 6 miles; Battalion formation, hardball, 8 min/mile

Best PT: Solo event, 2 miles, hardball/track, 7 min/mile

The hardest part of distance running is the boredom.

I did 10 miles once in my teens, just to see if I could do it. Back then I was running 2 miles. I usually run 5 miles now because generally that's how long I go before I get bored. Every couple years I think about doing a marathon but it never works out for this reason or that. I'm not a very strong runner or fast but I'm really good at settling into a pace and plugging along. And the hotter it is the more I I like to run. Go figure, because it makes no sense to me.

For myself, I find I enjoy the borderline insane desert hikes too so I get the "hotter it is" stuff.

3 miles. I figured any more just take a car.
