Not that I totally disagree with you, but I think psychedelics should be of concern given the US governments long standing interest in them. I mean they took a bunch of riled up college kids who were ready for cultural revolution and turned them into drug warped hippies who became pacifists, followed by the sexual revolution and the destruction of the family. As someone who has personally gone down this road, I think they government uses its illicit status to breed taboo as a means to on-ramp the younger generations to the program.
Interesting take! I've heard this before, and can definitely see where that cultural hijacking took place. I agree with the general sentiment, especially in the late 50s-60s-70s where that designed cultural revolution was really taking off. But look at how much more effective and brainwashy early age vaccinations and prescribed methamphetamines?
Authoritarianism is what got us into this mess. Wrongful detention, drug trafficking, crime upticks in every community. Law & policing corruption, high politicians running tax money into other countries, latest Ukraine, let alone Israel. The "rules" and "laws" are not dictated by communities anymore, that's why there's vaccine mandates and schedule 1 federal standards. You're drinking from the same cup if you think:

I can see how that would happen. But that feeling doesn't last forever. I've met plenty of rasta looking militant coastal California pot farmer types that'll cut your hand off with a machete for just looking at them wrong. And even going to some of these festivals that I bump into a while traveling around in my camper I can see a lot of alternative antifa style people all riled up looking to throw bricks at anything that triggers them. they're just a bunch of druggy wastes, how sad for them. I don't think I regret my time using mind-altering substances, I learned a lot about what was good and bad in my life. I wouldn't want to spend my entire life high on something that seems very counterproductive but I was glad to have the experience.
Yeah, only amplifies the philosophies that one has nested on. And sadly, many grew up in the care of government propaganda, state schools, tv advertising, and so on. Taking psychedelics in that state is... inadvisable
