They don't "need" them too. The drones are too good of a deal to pass up. The things are literally driven by lawnmower motors. They get a small rocket boost at launch. They are insanely accurate and cheap. Why would they not buy them?

These are drones, or RC planes, so they can't commit suicide. Since they are drones and expected to explode on impact, these are really just human guided cruise missiles. I don't know if this is above or below regular cruise missiles though. I would think these are better because you can minimize collateral damage?

I would say Iran wanted their drones tested and reviewed, gave/sold Russia a few for testing.

Israel got to live combat test their drones recently in Armenia. The Armenians took heavy casualties as a result.

I guess now the Iranians wanted to test their own drones in live combat conditions.

They probably sold them for a deep discount just to get them into action.

These drones are about the same as the Israeli drones. Cheap, one shot one kill, and you can control and aim them via video. Large enough to damage, small enough to be difficult to shoot down.

Coming next, air superiority drones, for attack and defense. Drones that can intercept and kill enemy drones.

the thing with suicide drones.... is you cant reuse them. its very easy to use 500 a week then oh no all your drones are gone.
