When tube tv's were the only option available, i could not eat anything crunchy while watching it because the picture would collapse to a single line across the middle of the screen horizontally. this problem disappeared when viewing non tube units like lcd or led. also would not happen on computer monitors. vibration of my scull while chewing?

No, this was any tube tv i was watching. forgot about it until today when i stopped at a garage sale and they had old tv's setup and playing and i got out of car chewing some corn nuts. every time i bit down it had the same effect, and stopped when i stopped chewing.

Okay, then you likely have a neurological problem affecting your eyesight. Your brain is not processing visual signals fast enough to see the entire field of scan lines when you are chewing on something. The vibrations the crunchy food are causing in your skull are limiting you vision processing, kind of like a strobe light effect where things appear to stand still if the timing is just right. Perhaps you should go see the optometrist and get one of those squiggly line tests to see if your brain and optic nerve connections are still working properly. If you can't see the random squiggly distortions in the test, then you have a neurological vision problem.

Well your first mistake is eating corn nuts. My tube TV would need a period of time to warm up. You could feel the electricity run all around you and your body hair would stand up. I can only imagine the amount of x-rays I got from that thing as a kid.

Our TV was so bad that if somebody stood between you and the TV, you could see their skeleton.

Cook an egg on top and watch metal arc.
