When tube tv's were the only option available, i could not eat anything crunchy while watching it because the picture would collapse to a single line across the middle of the screen horizontally. this problem disappeared when viewing non tube units like lcd or led. also would not happen on computer monitors. vibration of my scull while chewing?

Yeah, it's an artifact of how a CRT scans and your eyes shaking as it does so. The actual image on screen only persists for a fraction of the frame. The effect is similar to rolling shutter with phone cameras.

I'm amazed how many people in this discussion suggested it was a problem with you.
