You were really lucky, very few children have an experience like that (as I mentioned, my Grandpa was a drunk and my dad was never around, hardly knew him he worked so much, and didn't care much for me). Congrats.

I can relate to that too well. My father remarried when i was like 2 years old. Had a few good years with him as a kid but watched him start to drink his time away. Slaved away in factory/machinery work for 30 years. Spent most of my teen years not knowing him.
