One suggestion I can't recommend enough is to read "Nuclear War Survival Skills" by Cresson Kearny. It's the single best book written on the subject of surviving a nuclear war, & really goes a long way in dispelling many of the myths surrounding nuclear conflict. One of if not THE best prepping books ever. And best of all, it's free! Although you can order a hardcopy which I would strongly advise. http://www.oism.org/nwss/
