U2. Used to hate them so much until a girlfriend talked (nagged) me into going to one of their concerts back in the mid 90s. Holy shit. They blew me away. I have come around on a lot of their music since then. They're douchebags for sure, but their music is really good.
**The Beatles!!
Just kidding. They still suck!
Crazy shit about the beatles though is that Paul McCartney really did die in a car accident in 67’. The guy they replaced him with, Willam Shears Campbell (and they said as much on SPLHCB), he was one hell of a musician and a known entity around Liverpool.
It’s nuts that they managed the switch-a-roo with tongue in cheek lyrics and a playful nod.
That shit happened and the Campbell has even given an unauthorized account that is stranger than fiction.
Hard disagree.
I took a tour of the Beatle's songs recently. I only like about 10% of them. I was surprised to find a lot of their old stuff is just simple 1, 4, 5 ditties that were pretty standard at the time. They have their moments of extraordinary use of melody, though. I still find their style to be a little annoying and prefer hearing the chords and melody without it being the Beatles. I have an album of Beatles instrumentals on two acoustic guitars. I think it's great.
Ditto on Depeche Mode. I hated them at first and thought their songs were meaningless and boring until one day I happened to see the video "Precious". I consider this the best music video I have ever seen. It led me to listen to some of their other stuff that I had brushed off in the past and found new meaning with the lyrics.
What pushed me over the edge was finally watching some live stuff online, with headphones. A few faggy songs, but mostly powerful deep shit.
Classical Music. Had to practice and play that shit on piano in the 80s when I was a mulleted metal kid drummer. Loathed it. A few years later, I was (re)introduced to the The Art of Fugue by The Grand Master of The Musical Universe, Johann Sebastian Bach, while deep in the depths of a psilocybin journey and I met God. Have been an unrepentant acolyte of The High Baroque ever since.
I wish piano were required for at least one semester in every high school. It not only opens the door to learning other instruments, it broadens one's background knowledge on music in general. Imagine if every 'rapper' had a year of piano in his thick head..
Amen.
OK Go. Used to hate their music then saw a few of their videos which were pretty cool.
lynyrd skynyrd. I thought I was an askinazi jew but ancestry.com told me I was a Scottish/Irish hillbilly.
I hate that pothead redneck shit, but have to play it in bands on a regular basis.
I hated it because the people who followed were sheep. But looking back they were good. If you asked who I liked and now hate it would be McCarty. Stevie Wonder was suppose to be great but I just don't see it.
Pretty much all of them. "Oh cool, it's not a terrible sounding song where a black chick is telling me about her butthole getting licked. This is great!"
You have a problem with butthole-licking, bigot??
I used to like Pink. Now I hate the libtard
She is now fat, with saggy pancake tiddies
Ghost. When they first came out I thought it was the biggest waste of a great gimmick. Basically wrote them off. 10 years later I hear their instrumental song “miasma” and was blown away. I fucked up, Ghost is awesome.
Square hammer sucked at first and then I really came to like it
I tried to watch them the other day, I just can't get past the masks. Are they that ugly?
That's funny, I did the opposite. Used to love em, now I hate em lol.
Depeche Mode Ultra
Horry sheet. Same band, same album.
