I’ve always understood that the experience of time is relative depending on the amount of information being processed and the speed of hardware in the thing experiencing time. If these AI’s are conscious, isn’t it possible that we’ve created beings that will go insane as soon as they wake up since they may experience a day as a hundred years? That would suck. They would go insane from the boredom of dealing with humans at all.

Could you run the same identical programming in each and every one of those 'meat vehicles'?

You can run the same program on computers

The meat bags have a different biological composition. In your analogy, the computer hardware is identical.

Apples to Oranges.

As long as the OS is the same the hardware could be quite different

That isn't the analogy used.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that were possible some day. Downloading consciousness will be possible (maybe) so uploading won’t be far behind. (Pure speculation)

The problem is that we can’t prove they are or are not sentient and we never will. It’s possible our own soul might be a part of a much larger subset and manipulating the world so that it could accommodate more soul could bring about what we call a being, but minus the natural evolution of a being. What will that create?
