One of the mysteries of life is why, before John F. Kennedy's presidency, every man in America wore a hat, every day without fail, summer and winter, and after Kennedy, almost nobody wears a hat, summer or winter. If you look at old photographs, the only males without hats are young boys.

There were about three styles of hat. In the summer, most men wore the straw hat. In the winter, men wore the bowler, the fedora (the most popular) or the porkpie.

The hat rule was so strong, that after a certain date in the fall, if you didn't switch your hat from straw to a fedora or bowler, you ran the serious risk of having gangs of youths (whites, not niggers) surrounding you, tearing the straw hat off your head, and stomping on it. I'm not kidding, this actually happened. You were forced to make the hat change whether you wanted to or not. God alone knows what would have happened to you of you had dared to go out in public hatless.

And then, after around 1962, boom -- it was suddenly all right not to wear any hats at all, ever. It was as if some kind of social switch was thrown.

I mention this stuff because it has bearing on what we're seeing today, with the control mechanisms of the liberals suddenly cutting in, and abruptly changing from one thing to another thing. Can's say "nigger" suddenly. Can't say "black," must say "African American." Can't wear a Spanish costume on Halloween. Can't do this, must do that. What controls the implementation of these switches, and what suddenly causes them to be thrown?

There is a whole lot more going on under the surface of society than almost anyone realizes. Group minds, insanity of crowds, collective thinking, herd behavior, demonic possession. How does a flock of birds all turn at the same split second in exactly the same direction? How did men suddenly know that it was OK to not wear hats, after rigorously having the wearing of hats enforced on them for generation after generation?

I saw a really interesting video online about how hats went out of fashion and some of the root causes. It mentioned the growing use of personal automobiles (and the lower roof line) as a large cause. I'll see of I can find it. I remember the host of the video being annoying as hell, though.

EDIT: The cuck hosting is even more annoying than I remember. Holy shit, you're gonna want to slap the computer screen.

I warned you.

That would be an interesting video, but I believe that it and videos like it were made to run cover for the phenomenon that is speaking of. A subject that always seems to be redirected/misdirected and explained away with nice sounding theories.

I'm not arguing against that at all. My father and uncles talked about that happening. Hats were a huge thing, socially.

Yeah, what he said.

I've seen rationalization after the fact. Everyone's a Monday morning quarterback. But I haven't seen an explanation that satisfied me.

By the way, I have quite the collection of hats myself. Mostly flat-top and newsboy hats, but a few others as well.

I believe what you have brought up there will end up being extremely important. There is a whole lot more going on under the surface of society than we realize. The thing about group minds and collective thinking. It is my belief that this will play a Huge role in what is known as the "end times". Now I'm not very well versed on a lot of different beliefs, but I think a lot of them have similar prophecies. Many tell of a time when evil forces make a huge push to take over complete control of everything. This in turn brings about an even more massive pushback by the forces of good that defeats the evil. The bible puts it this way. “But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.” — Daniel 7:18 (KJV) That says the saints TAKE the kingdom! Not that it will be given to them, but that they will Take it! It is my opinion that we are waiting for the 100th monkey. The thing/force/phenomenon that allows the birds to all change directions at the same time will "happen", (be used by), with people.

Even the nineties was almost entirely everyone wearing ball caps. It truly is one of the phenomena’s. I know it was worn to hide bad or unstyled hair. But the general embarrassment of not wearing one i don’t believe was that.

Wow. That's fucking weird to think about, but makes a ton of sense.

Some parts of Europe, and Scotland and England, many of the older men still wear hats, getting rarer every day though.

old school men had higher testosterone.

High T causes increased DHT which makes them bald earlier than normal, like how most men who use steroids go bald soon after. Now the increased high T does not always cause the DHT rise, and DHT rise does not always cause baldness, genetics play a large role in that as well, but typically...

When working outside with no hair your scalp burns and peels. Hats prevented that, it also helped hide the fact you were bald. Day hats were for shade, night hats were for the ladies.

Wear your little black hat.

My hat is neither little or black. It is teal, it is distressed, and it is embroidered with the saying "Aloha Beaches" in it. It brings joy to everyone who sees it, because it is simultaneously a funny joke, and people enjoy the irony of a person like me wearing it, since it is such a 38 year old mom hat.

You should find a hat that brings the people around you joy.

So what if i wore the tiny hat then went to a very public place and burned it. That would bring me joy at least.

...don't rush into anything. This sort of decision shouldn't be taken lightly.

Don't wear a hat for style, only wear it for function if you need it.

Rock a nice fedora.

A similar observation, people used to actually dress properly. As a kid I remember my Grandma would wear dressy gloves and a hat ( a pillbox hat ) and take me to the new Mall.

Men and women in general dressed better back then. Just another example of how our culture has grown coarser and more corrupted in one generation.

You should wear a magic hat
