Get a metal 55 gallon drum and cut the bottom off and open the top bunghole. Might want to drill a 2" hole on the side near the bottom for better airflow. Could weld a 90° elbow on the 2" hole to prevent wind from getting in directly. You could also thread the cord through it. This would keep it out of the weather for under $150. Some nearby shop might give you a drum for free (they usually have to pay for disposal anyways. Might have some shit in it but you could rinse it out).

Yeah might want to fasten a wood handle or two to the sides of the drum for lifting it off in case it gets hot too.
Oh and the 2" bung on top should be 2"FPT if you wanted to put an angled pipe on there to keep the rain out.
