Threads is a documentary style movie about the effects of nuclear war.

Story takes place just a few days before a war between the US and the USSR in Iran. The story location is in the city of Sheffield, UK. Survivors of the blast struggle to survive for up to years after the conflict.

The movie itself is dated but I think it holds up well.

Even if I had a bunker that could hold fresh water, food, power etc, the world would never recover from that level of destruction. Another poster here said the megatons aimed at the UK was way higher than predicted in the film. It would not be worth it to survive through that.

I watched Threads again last night. Really eye opening stuff especially now. I think people have some idea that a "limited nuclear strike" is completely survivable.
Nah, I don't think so. Not for the average person.

People are ready to tear each other apart now. Imagine if there was no food.
