Threads is a documentary style movie about the effects of nuclear war.

Story takes place just a few days before a war between the US and the USSR in Iran. The story location is in the city of Sheffield, UK. Survivors of the blast struggle to survive for up to years after the conflict.

The movie itself is dated but I think it holds up well.

There is one that takes place near SF. Very realistic and has Kevin Costner appearance. Testament, 1983.

Yes. There's some really great moments in that film that demonstrate the real cost of the price of surviving a nuclear blast.

At that scale of nuclear destruction, I would just end it.

Yeah I kind of think that way too. I mean unless you're super wealthy and have a whole long living ecosystem to survive in. That made me think of one of my favorite books "Alas Babylon", written in 1959 about a nuclear blast and surviving afterward.
