The first one I had was a Mossberg bolt action 22 lr from the 40s. Had a wood stock and a wooden foregrip that folded down. Most accurate gun Ive ever shot. Then was given a Winchester model 47. Also 22lr. Great gun. It was one of the first semi autos mass produced. You pulled a rod from the back of the stock and loaded the rounds through a small hole in the side of the stock then put the rod back in. Held 14. I still have both of those guns. Love them still. Because of them I only really buy rifles with Wood stocks these days
All my early firearms , those of my youth had wood stocks and grip , except a daisy bb gun I had .
