It's the natural state

It's the natural state

I'm about to be dealing with this very soon. Planned a home birth, mini complication makes it illegal for midwives to do a home birth, so you're then stuck either going full solo at home or combatting the hospital. Due to the nature of the complication we'll use the hospital. We've done it before and we're good at telling them to fuck off with their interventions unless truly necessary. Final unknown is how shitty the pediatrician might get after delivery. They're pretty insistent that you keep the baby at the hospital for 24hr minimum, or 48hr if you refused their gay group B strep test and didn't nuke the baby with antibiotics in the womb, fucking lol. Some pediatricians will send CPS to your house if you take your newborn out of the hospital before they want, even if you sign their jewish "against medical advice" form. We're not going to be bullied over it. If they want to send CPS to come fuck around and find out, so be it. Maybe that would help out the next parent with less spine.

Sorry to hear about your stress. There is a difference between a midwife a a licensed nurse midwife. Usually they are allowed to do a little more. They can also be a great tool and person of advocacy in the delivery room so you and your wife can just focus kn having your baby. Midwives can fulfill many duties. Don't sell yourself short if you don't need to. If the baby is breach maybe look into getting ECV?

These midwives are licensed nurses. One is an MD. They'll be with us as doulas. Nothing major, just a minor placental tear that knocks the midwives out of being able to do an out of hospital birth without risking their licenses. We're as well prepared to deal with the hospital setting as anyone can be.

And yeah. We've had these midwives turn a baby before. It's pretty impressive.

I'll pray for your growing family.

You should seriously get an airbnb in a different state to give birth
