I thought I had at one time seen a button or a sub or something where all the posts that had been pinned to the top of the main page were organized. Am I wrong?

I think there had been a way to go to a pinned post from the site log and it was a different link from the primary post link and you could then go up a level or something and see all previous stickies. I might be horribly misremembering though.

I think right now to see previous announcement posts you would need to:

Go to the left sidebar > Site log Posts made announcements/pinned/stickied are marked, so look for entries marked as "Created an announcement" and "Removed an announcement". Then go to them individually to see what the posts were for.
