But these subversions all happened 100-200 years after they wrote it, and were the culmination of many preparatory steps. You can't design a perfect constitution but they came damn close to making as distant from any misinterpretation as humanly possible. Even if you did "fix" it, at best you would just delay the current situation by 50-100 years. After the Founding Fathers were dead and gone, shit happened that was 100x worse than any "mistake" they ever made in writing it. If a new country was created tomorrow and said they are using the Constitution and Bill of Rights as of 1791, it would already be pretty good. Just don't have a civil war over slaves this time.
