Yeah generally speaking they tend to do shoddy work because they don't have to be licensed or bonded. It's not a good idea to hire them, because the law won't go after them if they fuck up your house.
So they do shitty work, abscond with your money and there's zero recourse.

What happens is, the peon Mexicans learn a trade while working for a skilled (Mexican) crew, they then get good and eventually they run their own skilled crews. The skilled people are paid well.
Most of the head honchos of these crews have 'work cards' or green cards so they are 'legal' (doesn't make it right of course). The companies that use them are indeed licensed, insured and bonded.
The crews that are used are legal (doesn't make it right) in the government's eyes and they do excellent work. Believe it or not they take pride in their work.
Not fair to Americans but just the truth. I wish these young whites would do the same, but most are worthless.
