I know this post is about US, but there is a bit of a reversed situation in Europe. Construction sites are almost entirely White, I don't work in construction, but my job takes me to construction sites here an there, the only non White person on site would be a gateman and he would of course be shit at his job. You have to be skilled and know how to use "a tool" if you want to get in the industry now days, and on top of it all, money is really good. I guess that's what keeps pulling young men into it, they can make a decent living out of it.
