I admired the man for his persistence and rational way of thinking. Misunderstood and underappreciated. There's a Doug Stanhope bit where he says he sometimes feels like he's living in a world where everyone is starving to death and his "job" as a comedian is to point out all the food that everywhere and all around. And people look at home like he's a funny idiot when he points out the food and nobody takes him seriously.
That's how I imagine Jacque must have felt.
