I have found that text is a great way to start a conversation. It allows you to thoughtfully share your perspective and arguments and hear your opponents views fairly as they view them. After that, an actual face to face or phone conversation is much more informed. This is what I have been doing with my mom. It eventually gets to the point where the thoughts you want to share are no longer simple enough to send through text. I hope you have a good day! \o
