That 6 to 20 is feeling like snake canyon, I can't imagine the 50-100 jump ..

Different levels unlock different features like post/comment search, ability to create subs, block users...
Levels were designed that way to prevent point farming trolls from easily levelling up.

Thx for the additional details, looking at it more the points for levels don't increase in a linear, fashion I guess I expected them to and that caused the confusion.
I'm all for weeding out the trolls, even though keeps calling me one.
