I was looking through my previous comments and reminded me of a particular Costco run in December of 2019. It was about the time when all of us who don't watch the electric jew started getting wind of this gnarly virus that may be coming out of China. Videos of them dropping dead in the streets and coughing up pools of blood. Eventually we figured out it was all bullshit with a grain of truth.

But in that Costco run I was one of those two cart guys. All kinds of stuff. 2 packs each of Costco size TP and paper towels, ten gallons of white vinegar, a variety of soaps and cleaners, antiseptics, vitamins, batteries, toiletries, canned foods, yadda yadda. All to supplement filling in the cracks of my already existent supply.

People looked at me strange in line and when I was getting a pizza slice afterwards at the food court haha.

Then soon after the TP runs started. And I sat happy on my porcelaine throne knowing my ass would be clean.

Can't say that I have, but I will say I am so glad I cruise these sites. I stocked up on TP and other supplies before the major runs thanks to the early warnings we collectively got.

I've actually gotten more knowing looks and the subtle nod than weird looks. Benefits of living in Texas, I guess.

I did the same. I don't recall any looks but who knows. He'll, I still do it. I rotate thru cases of canned food.

It's not her job to watch what I buy.

When we are already on prepping topic, I have read that canned meats can last up to 15 years past the best before date if the can is undamaged.

Does anyone know how long can canned ground coffee last?

Meats, and virtually anything else, are safe to eat indefinitely in cans. The taste will go off and be stale, but the food is safe to eat as long as the can is intact and not bulged.

For the ground coffee, same thing. It's safe to brew indefinitely. It's going to taste stale between a month or two after roasting until forever. After about a year, it's not going to get any staler. Check for mold when you open it (which there shouldn't be because no moisture from outside) and you are good. If you are looking for long term storage, your best bet is buying green coffee beans and roasting them when you are ready to start using them.

Do you know how long would green beans be shelf stable?

Dry packed and shaken/stirred every couple of months, a year without staling. Vacuum packed, 10+ years without staling.

Kept dry, it's a dry bean and is safe to eat indefinitely (or at least in a normal human lifetime) just like pintos, rice and wheat berries. It won't be as tasty after 20 years, but it won't be unsafe.

you can use it years, later, but the flavor and caffeine will diminish. I have several cases of freeze dried coffee in glass jars. It's no fresh ground, but it will keep the same flavor and caffeine level indefinitely

Didn't know that, good info.

Leading up to the mothballing of my Circus biz, I was buying a few cans of beans and vegge every time I went shopping. Beans last but not well, canned vegge is junk tho. Still have most of em. “Boogaloo beans”

Indeed. Ordered a pallet of Mt House freeze dryed 10 tins on the Costco sale and had them shipped to work. (home would not be secure and they couldn't set an exact time). Everybody all ouuued and ahhed. For a while I had a rifle stacked in the corner....then I was also selling my excess ammo during the ammo shortage when Biden was elected and it was unobtainium they all know where I stand.

We prep a little differently. We’re off grid and on solar. We can just about everything and use and rotate our supplies. We keep about a 3-6 month supply on hand. I get plenty of looks and done questions when I purchase 24# butter at one time, or 30# off chicken it pork roast. A good portion of the second stimulus check was spent on non food items like TP, paper towels, baggies, foil, and cleaning soles, and first aid items.

What was all the white vinegar for?

[–] 2 pts

Cleaning, pickling, cooking. You can use it for all kinds of stuff.

Yeah I do get looks. Vaseline and cucumbers for some reason makes people think I'm some sort of weird pepper. I hate their judgemental looks.
