Weren't the Dutch countries also "neutral" but had Allied soldiers and equipment stationed in their borders?
I don't think the Dutch were like that, but the Belgians certainly were part of the "allies" and had been in WW1 as well.
I was under the impression that when Germany went through the low countries they met French and British troops there before hitting France or something like that. Even though they weren't supposed to have allies stationed there
If you've got a source on that I'd like to see it. I haven't seen stuff like that involving the Dutch. But in Belgium they used it to draw in allied armies then flank them via Ardennes; it's how they surrounded and annihilated so much of the French and British armies in one go.
