That's just life. My dad never said a word to me all my years. He was just there.
If people aren't in your life, not a part of your life, then they won't be relevant to you, and if they're not relevant to you then they're not gonna matter to you.

Same, I remember my dad 'once' played catch with me and I couldnt believe he could throw a ball. ( now he was a tough fucker, korean war vet and retired three times)
Same here. Only once did my dad come into the back yard and see me throwing the baseball up to catch it and offer to play catch. It was awkward and didn't last long. He was a retired Army lifer then.
Yeah, well therapists will tell you that having a dad that is around but ignores you is worse than none at all.
I dunno but it wouldn't surprise me, and I can assure you (at least in my experience) that it really does screw you up mentally.
See for me it's about their ideology and behavior.
