It's easy to at least like someone who showers you with love and respect. You say you own dogs. Isn't that what they do? Shower you with love and sometimes respect. At least unless you buy a shepard dog from a farm and you realize it's workhorse on crack, that has to be exhausted each day until it falls into a coma and it only cuddles when it's nearly comatose... but normal dogs shower you with lots of love. They do not have to guilt trip you with "but you must love me! I'm your canine!". It's easy to love them back. Well, thinking about it, it's also possible that your parents love you so much, that they prevent you from living your life. By not allowing you take risks, making it difficult to move away, engulfing you. But that's a very selfish form of love without any care about your future.
