women are good at writing books that women like. I have read some fantasy books that were written by women that were ok. The first harry potter book was ok.

They dont do a good job of writing male characters.

pratricia briggs comes to mind.

but i would consider them superior when it comes to writing childrens/young adult books. ruby holler - the city of ember - a wrinkle in time - the giver and gathering blue. i really liked the magic tree house series by mary pope osbourne.. and animorphs by k a applegate

My motivations as a character are riding a motorcycle and wearing a leather jacket

if that one is aimed at patricia briggs. honestly i only remember the fantasy books. there was a book about a girl who rode motor cycles.. maybe she was a werewolf? i only remember the cover its been like 20 years

I think that series by her is called Jane Yellowrock Mercy Thompson. She's still writing those and a new one is actually due out soon I think. Unless it was Faith Hunter's Mercy Thompson Jane Yellowrock that rode the motorcycle, a series that is about to conclude on the next release I think. One of them had a VW bus and one a motorcycle, or one had both. I don't remember those details, but if I could sear the details that I do remember about those books from my mind, I would.

(Not a faggot; I get them for a female relative that likes them, so of course she tells me all about them.)

(Edits: Yellowrock is the one ending in book 15 that's supposed to come out on Sept 6. Mercy is on book 13 that is supposed to release in two days on the 23rd, but not the last one in the series I think. Also corrected that I had the names of the series by the authors swapped.)

Gathering Blue is an interesting book. I really wish she would have finished Jonas' life story beyond merely hinting at it.
