Nah. I’m a mason. Picking and kicking rocks all day.
I assumed you work with cement from the pictures. The leather has been dried out oil your boots .my redwings are going on two years and are just recently wearing through at the toe
Oiled em, it’s the threads that gave up.
How often?
kinda the wrong boot for the trade, when i ran on construction crews we all had solid leather boots from or (the boots picked is for example) the leather lasts a long time so long as you take care of it clean the dirt off polish them up every few weeks. When the sole wears out it should only cost $50-100 to get them resoled at a cobler.
All the years i worked construction i only had maybe half a dozen pairs, a couple insulated for the winter and another couple pairs for the rest of the year. I never wore any of the leather out and i was hard on boots.
My current pair of work boots i got 6 years ago and have had them resoled twice, I like the leather welted boots they just last.
Getting tough to find cobblers these days .I have to drive an hour to get to one. Was actually thinking of asking to work for the guy to learn the trade.
