A good trick with pits is to wait until they are lazy and tired, and when they don't listen, pick them up off the ground and carry them gently to where they need to go, like bedtime. They hate it but love you for it too, especially if they are older and are hiding pain. Any dog that you feed BBQ scraps and walk regularly will be your friend
