Ring is totally compromised. Get yourself a good guard dog or two if you can.
No Chihuahuas.
Any better than normal? I'm not getting a pitbull.
Rottweilers are good. American bull dogs are good. Boxers are good (small, but really tough). These are all breeds derived from the mastiff, and they share a genetic characteristic -- the mastiff keeps what is his. They also tend to attack without barking, which is a useful trait. Or, if you want to spend $100+ dollars on meat every week, get a mastiff.
You want a great security dog? Get a giant or standard schnauzer or something like a bouvier de flandres. Akitas tend to be biters; a malamute is imposing and very protective. Most of the working breeds and the herding breeds are excellent dogs for protection. Some terriers will bite the shit out of you as most were bred to hunt varmits.
Rhodesian ridgeback made it to the top of my list.

I'd love one of those but you really need to have a couple of them. They are social creatures but also need a tough master. They can't be idle to much. They are not stupid dogs.
Depends on how much training you can give. German or Australian shepherd maybe.
Chihuahuas are little shits, get a terrier if you just want a small alert dog.
I had an argument once about Pitbulls being dangerous at work. Everyone was saying they are great dogs that get a bad rap. With me saying they'll eat little dogs and maul owners. A guard dog but not a house dog or a pet. One guy was all ugly about it. Then a week later he comes in all amazed that his pitbull ate his daughters Chihuahua.
