No Chihuahuas.

Any better than normal? I'm not getting a pitbull.

Rottweilers are good. American bull dogs are good. Boxers are good (small, but really tough). These are all breeds derived from the mastiff, and they share a genetic characteristic -- the mastiff keeps what is his. They also tend to attack without barking, which is a useful trait. Or, if you want to spend $100+ dollars on meat every week, get a mastiff.

You want a great security dog? Get a giant or standard schnauzer or something like a bouvier de flandres. Akitas tend to be biters; a malamute is imposing and very protective. Most of the working breeds and the herding breeds are excellent dogs for protection. Some terriers will bite the shit out of you as most were bred to hunt varmits.

Rhodesian ridgeback made it to the top of my list.

I'd love one of those but you really need to have a couple of them. They are social creatures but also need a tough master. They can't be idle to much. They are not stupid dogs.

I have a brood of kiddos that should keep him busy enough…once I finally get one.

Seemed like it checked all the boxes for me: no shedding, no barking, intelligent, protective when it needs to be, strong enough to handle any threat. Great option all around.

Oh, and it’s got an awesome name. Remember Rhodesia.

Depends on how much training you can give. German or Australian shepherd maybe.
Chihuahuas are little shits, get a terrier if you just want a small alert dog.

I had an argument once about Pitbulls being dangerous at work. Everyone was saying they are great dogs that get a bad rap. With me saying they'll eat little dogs and maul owners. A guard dog but not a house dog or a pet. One guy was all ugly about it. Then a week later he comes in all amazed that his pitbull ate his daughters Chihuahua.

Well, yeah, but come on, a Chihuahua. It's not really a dog, is it? More of an noisy, annoying appetizer.

Niggers and mexicans destroyed the breed. Pittbulls need to be eradicated like the invasive specie snakes in the everglades.

Pits are loveable but needy and kind of dumb. You have to be unquestionably the boss before they listen and even then they will move first and ask questions later. A good trick with pits is to wait until they are lazy and tired, and when they don't listen, pick them up off the ground and carry them gently to where they need to go, like bedtime. They hate it but love you for it too, especially if they are older and are hiding pain. Any dog that you feed BBQ scraps and walk regularly will be your friend
