More of a curiosity, you can flash the firmware on the smart bulbs? I always wondered about that as those are going to be devices that don't age well for control.

Depends on the bulb itself. Tasmota firmware runs on ESP chips, so if you have a bulb with ESP chip inside you can flash it. (Although you might need to crack it open and solder a serial cable onto the pins)

Ok. So they need to physically be opened to update them. What a pain.
