I have a huge arthritic growth on the top of my left foot which ive had since 8th grade. Ive been thinking about having it removed but the kicker is i loose the foot for almost 6 months.
If you've had it this long, you'll probably never have it removed.
I agree. Im a manual labor kind of person and need my feet.
In that case you'll probably want a hammer with a really sharp chisel, a lot of antibiotic ointment, and daily wound care.
You will also need to not wear shoes or socks for a pretty significant amount of time.
Thats what the doc said he was going to do chisel and realign the metacarples or whatever they're called.
Bring any animal you have to the vet and ask for antibiotics, like amoxycillin, or any other antibiotic, should you do it yourself
Get the surgery done before you get old unless you are already old.
I am already old-ish
If you are healthy enough to heal from a cut in a normal amount of time and can handle taking it easy during the recovery period, go for it! The arthritis will only get worse as you get older. If this has thrown your gait off it can potentially cause knee and hip problems later on.
