Bring any animal you have to the vet and ask for antibiotics, like amoxycillin, or any other antibiotic, should you do it yourself

The last pet i had was a Comet. It lived 5 years. The day it died all of its fins decomposed and it was wiggling in the tank with only bones for fins. It was really creepy. No more pets, it been over 6 years.

Feel around your toe for where the joint is.

You're going to want to make an incision around it. All the way through the dermis, and all around the toe.

Once you are certain you have gotten all the way through the skin, you can apply the chisel.

Put it right on the joint, and stick the hammer as hard as you can.

Apply as much salt as you can and drink a lot of fluids, and bandage it.

Change that bandage often.

Don't wear shoes or socks for a few weeks.
