We made the best watches in the world for over 150 years. "Swiss made" was required by the American market to denote an inferior product.

We made the best guns in the world.

Telephones. Radios. Tvs. Computers. Cars. Airplanes. Infrastructure. And buildings. We made clothes to last a lifetime and vacuum cleaners to last 3.

Can you expand on what you mean by infrastructure? You can't include the interstate system, we stole that idea from Germany.

We built electricity and telephone infrastructure. Modern plumbing and skyscrapers. We built subways and airports and massive railways. And interstates.

Can you recommend a great vacuum cleaner please? I've gone through a Dyson (cheap plastic shit that breaks after less than 10 years) and recently tried a Miele because I remembered an AMA from a vaccum repairman around 10 years ago who said it was what he uses....it sucks, but not in the way you would want a vacuum to suck. It doesn't deep clean the carpets as well as the Dyson did and always leaves behind dirt that I can clearly see.

Miele (like most German products) is excellent. Don’t buy the shit Kirby crap or Hoover products. Basically long dead and stagnated amerimutt crap that never got with the times.

Dyson has cool design and performance, but falls apart because it’s not designed to last.

Honestly an old-school metal Kirby or hoover. They were very expensive and made of metal and solid af. They beat the shit out of the carpet as long as you maintain them. They are made to be maintained and repaired.
