Please continue, what about having an internal monologue is not what it seems? Unpleasant or not, I’d like to be enlightened
It sounds to me like you have an interior monologue.
You have a Voice, inside of your own head, narrating, and occasionally, telling you what to do.
Do you think that this is actually you own voice? If so, why would you ever feel the need to narrate your own life?
Schizophrenics and Schizoid type personalities are often known to have voices, or internal narrators, that they can hear inside of their own head.
They are considered insane because they have more than one voice inside of their own head,
Have you considered why one voice, inside your own head, is the magic number for sanity?
Having two, or three, or five voices inside of your head would make you insane.
But one, one voice, makes you a perfectly responsible and sane adult human.
Cuz why?
I don't actually think that Voice inside your head, that Voice that is your internal Narrator, is actually you at all.
Has it ever had your own interest at it's heart? Or has it just filled you with self-doubt and misery?

I think it is something else entirely, and I think it is dangerous.
I've made the voice in my head my bitch and can turn it off, or make it say whatever I want.
The only problem I still have is when songs get stuck in my head. Those are tougher to shut off.
I do have an internal monologue and I do occasionally try to quiet it with meditation. Never successfully. You say you think it’s something else entirely, what do you think it is? You weren’t kidding, my mind is taking me to some dark places here, all narrated by my thoughts.
As an aside if your goal was to get inside someone’s head today it fucking worked man.
