i'm a bigger alcoholic than you

Weird flex but okay. Modern beers have much higher ABV, there are stouts that go to 12%. Industrialization and modern consumer/club culture made it easy and common to consume distilled spirits. You can get 95% ABV these days (everclear) for a couple bucks. You can get 40% ABV "beers" if you really look (news.bbc.co.uk). Why would modern alcoholics have less tolerance?

BTW medieval peasants didn't just drink beer like today and walk around constantly shitfaced, lmao. They drank small beer which has 1-2% ABV, like kvas, kombucha, etc. The type of beer people drink now was an expensive luxury.
