Could learn HVAC tech in that time

My local edu has some of those classes. Like two total. I've thought about it.

Not devoting 2-4 hours a week.

Hi pressure to low pressure.

What's so hard to learn?

[–] 0 pt

Could pass EPA 608 Universal in a month easy. Then part time or something to learn the ropes

[–] 1 pt

pfffft you can pass that bullshit with your cell phone, I was a ESCO proctor for years, I'de just give ppl the test to take home and do overnight, no one cares about that shit.

One way to do it for sure. Get a freon license and go to work as a helper to a firm that sends more than one person for repairs or installations. What I've seen most places send one man who has a minimum of junior college certificate HVAC.

Leather crafts

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

Is that making leather? Taking leather to make a jacket?

[–] 1 pt

Making wallets and stuff like that. Search JooTube for "leather projects that sell", there are a bunch of tutorials and the like and it's relatively inexpensive to get started.

If you want to make something more specific this channel https://www.youtube.com/c/SkillTree is pretty good for LARP/cosplay type projects (can charge more than general stuff), even if he does sound like a bit of a faggot.

I mean faggots need leather mask with zippers and they seem to be an exploding market.

All seriousness... I'll try it. Thanks.

I imagine the economic situation may put as far back as the 1800’s or thereabouts. Any skill or trade that was dominant in that time. One idea that is just good to know… learn how to sharpen blades/knives properly.

Are you looking for a new career or a sideline to make extra money?

Both. I'm trying to get away from a desk.

There have been a few good suggestions already (leather working, knife / tool sharpening) for sideline work. Have you thought about a trade that allows you to be your own boss?

My landscaper does the whole thing himself. Well, his son just started helping him, but up until a few weeks ago it was just him. No crew of illegals to worry about, just a riding mower an edger and a leaf blower.

Same thing for the mobile dog groomer that comes to a number of houses in my area. It's one guy who slowly built up enough clients until he could quit his 'regular' job.

The knife sharpening and leather working look good. Heck tie that to tailoring.

I do computer stuff and my heart is not in it anymore.

Learn to make ammo.

[–] 1 pt

Supply problems right now.Primers in particular have been prioritized to big manufacturers. Also requires ATF license and is a major insurance liability if you are openly selling it.

[–] 0 pt

Primes dont need an ATF license or to even make it.

[–] 0 pt

Clarifying, an ATF license is required to manufacture ammunition for sale. The issue with primers is that as a new manufacturer of ammunition you will be last in line for allocation of primers, which are still in limited supply other than to large buyers. Powder, cases, and bullets are also tight and sometimes allocated.

Hmm... you need a press and a bunch if other equipment?

My father inlaw has a bunch of stuff to make ammo. Claims he can make it for all his guns. Unfortunately, hes a pack rat. Cant get to thr equipment without a laborish process.

Tailoring

Making clothes or adjusting?

[–] 0 pt

Adjusting. Becoming a full clothier takes more time, training, and resources. Plus, not nearly as many people need that.

Gimp costumes are all the rage right now

Faggots keep fagging.

Simple carpentry using hand tools, and how to use a Swiss Army Knife for survival

I'm doing some carpentry but not much. I'll try to expand that.

chisels (4, 8,10, 15, 20, 30, 45mm), ax, wood bores (10,12,15 and 20mm) and a buck saw, you can build damn near anything

I watched a historical fletcher create a table leg from a branch/limb. That would be similar?

Anything related to computers. Microsoft Azure Administration Certification can get you a good job without any experience. If you want to work with your hands, any job that requires an onsite person. The better the skill, the better the pay.

If you have the space, learn to plant and care for a vegetable garden, you will reduce your cost of living, and with the extra vegetables you will have you can either gift friends/family or sell them to your local farm co-op store or at the farmers market

Doing that now though it is a container garden.
