I got a family member holy roller that says I am going to hell for drinking beer so yes, agree.
Christianity doesn’t say “suffering is good.” It does say that suffering is inevitable due to sin. It does say to take joy in all things as a means of learning and growing from them and as a reminder that this world is a steaming pile of shit, made so by unwarranted pride. It also speaks to persevering through “suffering” to become stronger and to hold fast in spite of it. But so does weightlifting - no pain, no gains.
However, the Apostle Paul wrote that it was “good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior” to pray for a “quiet and tranquil life in godliness and dignity” (I Timothy 2:1-3), meaning a life absent undue suffering and struggle.
You're a fucking idiot.
And illiterate as well, since you clearly know NOTHING about the Bible. Trying reading it BEFORE you bitch about it, you fucking retard.
Religious people are people who recognize that there is a higher power, and that to be happy you must live in harmony with that higher power. Not because the higher power forces you to do so, or because you are afraid of it, but because you were designed that way. When you go against God, effectively you become a cancer. You no longer serve the purpose for which you were created. All you can do is destroy.
The simple and short explanation is you are surrounded by stupid people who happen to be religious.
But there is nuance there that you are misattributing to religion. There is a link between repentance and suffering, as with all punishment systems. For example the idea that "you served your time" and should not be judged negatively for going to jail. This does get more pronounced with people who believe they can cleans thier soul and essentially abdicate thier responsibility for thier sins.
Some people do this excessively. Not because the religion calls for it. Not because the religion claims this makes them better. Simply because they obsess. Low IQ people have a predisposition to obsess.
If they weren't religious they would obsess over something else.
Usually I share my insights, but I've stopped doing that having realized that people like you don't want the answers. If you did you would do the legwork required to get them. The answers are out there for you to find. The problem with people like you is not that you don't have access to the answers, its that you don't want them. All you want to do is bitch and complain. So there is no point in casting pearls to swine.
You don't like wiping Rabbi Jesus' feet with your oily hair?? What's wrong with you
