Ramen noodles for a full Summer. Holla. Grew up poor
I had to sleep on a lumpy mattress for a while. I bought a new mattress.
Yeah, when I was about 10 we went through a more rough time than usual...5 kids shared a can of cold soup and a can of peas almost every day for about a month. We passed those cans around like it was gold...it was. We would have more when one of my brothers went surf fishing and managed to catch something. I spent three years off grid starting in 2012..hauled the water, no electricity and no potty. It was the best three years of my life. I tested myself, it was very hard...but I did it.
An entire year eating 2min noodles and sleeping on a couch
I was homeless for a month and a half. Other then getting really sick twice, it wasn't too bad but I'd never want to experience it again.
Slept in abandoned cars, my own car, in a boiler room, behind bushes and Dumpsters, in vacant houses...yes. Stay sober, folks.
No ID, social security, no internet, no electricity. Almost 3 years.
The only time it got hairy was when an injury led to infection that needed medical attention, which interestingly was made easier if I didn't have an ID or social to give.
Yes. In many ways.
Nothing but milk thistle and the-last-sandwich-my-mom-ever-made... In the freezer.
is it still there?
We lost it in the creek... When the water rose.
